For the frame of the Choreographic Convention, choreographer and performer Lydia Touliatou opens up her interdisciplinary collaboration with visual artist Xiao Zhiyu — an investigation into how choreographic scores can suggest new ways of experiencing visual artworks beyond their static display. Zhiyu’s research considers the relationship between painted objects and contemporary image economies, where representation is shaped by circulation, distortion, and screen-based perception. From this, Touliatou enacts solo durational scores of intimacy, rest, and travel with the artworks.
